The Pakistani community of Athens arrived in their hundreds on Saturday in Kotzia square to say goodbye to the victim of a racist murder Shehzad Luqman. Prayers were led by a local Imam before his remains were repatriated t0 Pakistan for burial. He was cycling to work on Wednesday morning when he was attacked by two men on a motorbike and stabbed. The alleged attackers have been arrested, one had a pile of Golden Dawn literature found at his home. The other was an off duty firefighter. Despite all the details that have emerged the Police are still refusing to describe this as a racist murder. Meanwhile Amnesty International have released a strongly worded statement blaming the Greek government for not taking the issue of racist attacks seriously.
